CFVI Announces Education Enrichment Grant Opportunity

In the wake of back-to-back category 5 hurricanes impacting the U.S. Virgin Islands, CFVI recognizes the significant effects on educational institutions, their staff, and youth served. We are eager to support education-related efforts across the Territory, and are pleased to announce the availability of Education Enrichment Grants for the 2017-2018 school year.

In light of the great need across educational settings, eligibility is open to professionals at public and private/parochial institutions serving children of all ages (e.g., preschool through 12th grade), and will consider proposals from all departments, including traditional academic subjects, the arts, physical education, vocational programs, and other categories (e.g., before- and after-school programs).

Funding will be awarded on a competitive basis for projects/programs that seek to enrich students’ educational experiences/outcomes. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for proposals that are compelling, creative, and provide students opportunities to engage in activities above and beyond the standard curriculum. Project descriptions should be clear and well organized, and a realistic budget must be provided.  Proposals that represent collaborative endeavors (e.g., public-private partnerships, or schools sharing split session programming), literacy, English language learners, at-risk youth, or service learning will be given special consideration.

Applications must be submitted no later than Midnight, Friday, January 19th, 2018 through an online application form: http://bit.ly/CFVIenrichmentgrantapp

Successful applicants must agree to submit a brief written report, receipts for expenditures and, if possible, visual documentation, on the use of the grant at the end of the funding period.  Any applicant who has received a teacher grant in the past must have submitted a written final report on the use of the grant in order to be eligible for current consideration.
